Wallpaper Resurrection...

I am totally crushing on wallpaper right now. I would cover my entire apartment if it weren't for the fact that 1. I don't know how to hang it and 2. I would probably loose my entire security deposit if I executed my little plan! I use to think that wallpaper was just for my Grandmother's dining room, but earlier this year I was staying at the Soho Grand in Manhattan (www.sohogrand.com) and they not only had the most amazing decor throughout the entire hotel, but my bathroom had the quirkiest black & white cartoon wallpaper, (nothing like I have ever seen). Below you'll find pictures of some of my favorite papers and where you can find them!

Pillow Talk...

Since you spend almost as much time in your bed as you do at your desk, you might as well put some special thought towards your space. I especially love combing an eclectic assortment of throw pillows in a wide array of colors, prints, shapes and textures like you'll find below.

Last Call...

I usually like to drink my alcohol, not decorate with it, but having my very own mini bar calls for special circumstances! The only challenging part is explaining to my boyfriend that the liquor in my make shift bar is for looking...not touching. To put my mini bar together (pictured last), I found this vintage green kitchen cart at a flea market for only $15. Then I bought a fun tray and a martini shaker for next to nothing at Target. I also ran across some fun retro rainbow striped stirrers at an antique store in SF, Past Perfect on Union St. Then I located some old school Coke bottles at the local market and topped everything off with some tonic water and Red Bulls. Lastly all of the liquor was bought, well you know... at the liquor store! Below you'll find some really amazing bars that I was totally inspired by! I especially love the first one pictured, it's so pink and girly making it totally unexpected but fun! Create your own mini bar today and you'll have a ready to go party at a moments notice!

Come on Baby Light my Fire..

I've always dreamed of having a bright white fireplace in my tiny studio. Although I did almost start a fire in my microwave heating up leftovers tonight so maybe open flames are not the best idea for someone like me. Growing up in the cold Midwest my childhood home had multiple fireplaces that would be a popular gathering place for visitors throughout the winter, so I've always felt a little nostalgic about them. In the below pictures you'll find a collection of a more modern take on the traditional fireplace with pure white brick and an eclectic mix of unexpected mantel place pieces. I also love some of the unexpected splashes of color you'll find adding some excitement to this focal point in the room.
